| Heather Dekok ,AIFD, AAF has been directly involved in the flower industry for over 17 years beginning at an early age working with her parents, Skip and Caren Kerr in their retail flower store, the first Grower Direct Fresh Cut Flowers location in Canada. She quickly realized her love for flowers and our industry and took the plunge 12 years ago in purchasing her own store. Heather’s commitment to the flower industry and her hard work continued when she was officially inducted into the American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD) in July 2007 at their national symposium. In addition to this she was also inducted into the American Academy of Floriculture (AAF) at the Society Of American Florists (SAA) 2007 annual convention. Heather participated as a floral designer in the 2008 Tournament of Roses parade held New Years day in Pasadena California. She worked on 2 of the floats for the parade both of which received awards. In 2008 Heather was the featured floral designer in Toronto for Flowers Canada. In September 2008, she was asked to be a judge for the Sylvia Cup; one of the top floral design competitions in North America.
