St. Patty’s Day is a favourite holiday by many, whether you share in Irish heritage or not. Here are a few fun ways to celebrate!

Chocolate covered strawberries anyone? These would pair perfectly well with a large glass of green beer! Create a non-alcoholic beverage by adding green food colouring to any translucent beverage.
We have a tried and true Irish Stew Recipe! We also recommend adding Herb Dumplings. Let us know how yours turns out!
Ingredients You Will Need
2 pounds of lamb stew meat
½ cup flour
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped into medium pieces
4 potatoes, chopped into small pieces
1 clove garlic, chopped
Fresh mixed herbs: thyme, rosemary, chives, parsley
2 ½ cups beef broth
Coat your lamb in flour and sauté it with the vegetable oil in a medium saucepan. Add onions and continue to sauté. In a large boiling pot, drop in the garlic, along with the lamb, onions and remaining vegetables and potatoes. Sprinkle a generous portion of herbs over the mixture and cover it with your beef broth. Cover the top of your stew and let simmer for about two to three hours.
This stew can also be made in a crock pot as well. Sauté all of your meats and veggies and stick them into the crock pot along with the other ingredients. Let it cook for about three to four hours. Check occasionally to see if the lamb is tender.
Herb Dumplings
To dress up your traditional stew, you can follow this easy recipe for herb dumplings. You will need two cups biscuit baking mix, 2/3 cup milk and ½ to 1 teaspoon of herbs or parsley. Combining similar herbs from the recipe above will also work. Combine all of your ingredients until the mixture is moist. Roll the mixture into small dumpling-sized balls. After the stew has been simmering for about two to three hours, drop the dumplings into the stew and simmer for about 15 minutes.
